Project introduced fifth grade students to high school through a one day tour on campus. High school students planned and delivered standards-based instruction in an interactive hands-on environment. 500 high school students planned and instructed 100 fifth grade students. Partners included Marengo Ranch fifth graders and their class-room teachers.
The project started out with a focus on 20 at-risk high school students and with support and encouragement on campus, grew 25 times larger with 30% of the student body participating in this service-learning project.
